The Central Florida Chapter received its Certificate of Charter from the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., (AAHGS) on May 17, 1991.

For over a quarter of a century the Amelia Island Genealogical Society (AIGS) has been proud to serve both those seeking information about Amelia Island ancestors and those without local ties wishing to connect with other local genealogists.

Annette Burke Lyttle owns Heritage Detective, LLC, providing professional genealogical services in research, education, and writing. She loves helping people uncover and share their family stories. Annette speaks on a variety of genealogical topics at the national, state, and local levels. She has a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speakers Guild, as well as a number of national, state, and local societies. Annette has been researching her family on and off since high school, and she has been a full-time genealogist since 2012. Her genealogical education has included the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, the ProGen Study Group, and the National Genealogical Society Quarterly Study Group.

Ann Staley, CG, CGL, is an instructor, consultant, trip leader and a lecturer at local, state and national conferences. Raised in Mobile, AL, Ann has been researching her family since 1980 from Alabama, Mississippi, and Virginia to France, England, and Germany.

Debbie Duay received her Ph.D. in Adult Education from Florida Atlantic University in 2007. She has over 15 years of experience in genealogy, and she has taught numerous workshops throughout Florida on researching early American ancestry.

The mission of the Flagler County Historical Society is to promote historical and cultural research and education for the benefit of the community.

Karen Fortin received her Bachelor's Degree in History and her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. She worked in a variety of positions at the Barbara S. Ponce Public Library in Pinellas Park, FL for 30 years.

Susan Well has been researching her family since 1994. She is on the Board of Directors of the Genealogical Society of Sarasota and co-leader of their United Kingdom Special Interest Group. She teaches genealogy at the Lifelong Learning Academy in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida. She is the author of the local history book about the homes, neighbors and landlords of Silent Cal titled, Calvin Coolidge: At Home in Northampton. After graduating from Cornell University and getting a masters in adult education from Springfield (MA) College, Well taught in secondary schools and adult education programs before a long career in real estate sales and appraisal.
