AI Tools for Genealogy – June 20, 2024

Webinar Abstract: Whether you’re conducting research, preserving family artifacts, or writing your family history, artificial intelligence (AI) offers immensely powerful tools to the genealogist. Best of all, these tools are not only surprisingly easy to use, they’re often free!  This presentation will provide a basic overview of many of these tools. Specifically, it will identify how you can tap AI to help write and illustrate your family history, assist your genealogy research, estimate dates for your photos, and transcribe handwritten records. A live AI demo will also be presented.

Presenter: Newly retired following his 38-year career working for the Department of Defense, Henry Stish has long possessed an enduring passion for technology. A graduate of the US Air Force Academy with over 15 years in service at the Pentagon, he holds Master’s Degrees in both National Security and Logistics Management. Now in retirement, he has coupled his long-term passion for genealogy with the use of emerging artificial intelligence tools to accelerate the discovery and presentation of his own Polish, Irish, and Norwegian roots.
