Webinar Abstract: Johanna (Daly) Mahoney plunged to her death taking her parents’ and siblings’ identities along. Crucial evidence from the analysis of three generations of associates and a summons published sixteen years post-mortem led to her family.
Presenter: Debbie Mieszala, Certified Genealogist®, specializes in forensic genealogy, and 20th-century and Midwest research. She conducts genealogical research for the military to locate relatives of service members missing in past wars. Debbie formerly performed adoption-related research as an Illinois Confidential Intermediary. She has taught at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research, and the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh. She formerly served as a trustee of the Board for Certification of Genealogists. Debbie earned a certificate in paralegal studies to better understand legally influenced documents used by genealogists, and to become more skilled at researching historic laws.
