Boys Home Association of Jacksonville Collection

About the Collection: The Boys home served as a residential home for orphans and boys whose parents were unable to care for them for a number of reasons. The Home also served as a halfway house for boys leaving the Florida Industrial School. The records from the home consist of 36 bankers’ boxes of files, 3 3-ring notebooks, and 1 drawer of index file cards. The files, the notebooks, and the index cards have been indexed in 3 separate databases. The dates of admission to the boys home range between 1914 and 1969.

Pioneers, Settlers, & Builders

The Florida State Genealogical Society’s Florida Pioneer Descendant Certificate Program honors descendants of Florida pioneers who settled in Florida prior to statehood on 3 March 1845, and Settlers & Builders of Florida who settled in Florida between 3 March 1845 and 31 Dec 1900. Certificates include: State, County, Settlers & Builders of Florida, Researcher, and Memorial.

The Florida Genealogist

The Florida Genealogist showcases the great variety of Florida genealogy. Published twice a year, in June and December, TFG features unpublished manuscripts like case studies and research techniques along with source materials such as transcriptions, abstracts, and indexes of original records pertaining to the history and genealogy of the state of Florida.
